Print still has a profitable place in outdoor advertising


According to a new study from Borrell, a media research company, out-of-home advertising (OOH) is the only ad medium, outside of internet marketing, that has shown consistent growth since 2008 and is expected to continue to grow over the next five years.* It is predicted that OOH revenue will increase from $7.3 billion in 2018 to $18.5 billion by the year 2020.

Advertisers are now turning to printed billboards, transit and bus shelter advertising to complement their investment in the now flooded digital space. Consumers are rebelling against the constant onslaught of digital ads with banner blindness and are turning to ad blockers to remove the digital noise. This is causing marketers to look to outdoor print advertising to provide an exclusive marketing message that will be viewed multiple times by a captive audience. In addition, the cost per impression of OOH is fractions of the cost of other forms of advertising. Don’t miss out on this huge market opportunity for print providers.
